“SAMMY’S FIRST DAY” - BOOK READING AND MINDFULNESS SESSION

Brian and the Good Vibes Fit crew are hitting the road to tour his new, well-reviewed children’s book, “Sammy’s First Day: How Sammy Made Friends with the Power of Kindness.” He will be reading his book in person for all elementary school students all over. The reading events include a reading of the book by Brian himself, as well as a mindfulness training session. Book reading is for all students, Pre-K through 5th grade. Mindfulness sessions are for 4th and 5th graders.

The purpose of the book is to spread the message of friendship, kindness, and the importance of mindfulness. These awesome in-person events also provide a unique opportunity for students to learn the basics of mindfulness, meditation, and self-care in a way that is age-appropriate and relatable.

Readings allow all students to meet, learn from, and interact with a published author and ask questions about what they’ve learned. They give the kids a chance to meet a new and relatable face who can teach them relevant information that will help lay a foundation for a healthy, well-balanced life going forward.

Brian is an experienced yoga teacher and personal trainer who has served a diverse range of clientele over the years. He is experienced in youth development programs and fitness training alike, and he is bringing the best of his training, education, and knowledge into his children’s events in order to offer children a new set of skills that will make them more productive, calm, focused, and well-rounded in all areas of life.

'SAMMY'S FIRST DAY' Children's Book - Official Release Date

Good Vibes Fit Co is committed to raising the collective vibration and encouraging every person, at every age, to live healthily, mindfully, and fit. We are pleased to announce the official release date of our first children’s book, ‘Sammy’s First Day,” written by our owner, Brian.

This is a simple and heart-warming story that is meant to teach children the importance of friendship, kindness, and overcoming self-doubt and fear using the power of breathing and positive affirmations. It is meant to be an age-appropriate and child-friendly solution to help young children learn some basic mindfulness principles at an early age, to help them become easy-going, well-rounded, and well-balanced individuals who are kind and generous citizens within their communities.

The story follows Sammy, a six-year-old, on his first day of school. He is nervous in the beginning, and we see his mother help calm him by using some simple breathing and giving him a positive affirmation to recite. We then see Sammy take his newly learned skill to school and use it to make new friends through acts of generosity and kindness, and by sharing his affirmation with others.

Themes and ideas/messages explored:

-Identifying and understanding your feelings, and expressing them healthily

-Being fair-minded and compassionate to others

-Embracing individuality and being yourself

-Being respectful and understanding of the other's differences

-Practicing simple, mindful breathing

-Using positive words and affirmations to develop a positive outlook on yourself and others

-Being helpful to others by sharing your knowledge and tools with them.
